Teen Start-Up Camp is a success!

The 2018 Aviation Teen start-up camp was a success with teens across the ACT spending two days learning about the airport, talking to aviation experts and solving future aviation problems.

The first day of Teen Start-Up Camp was action-packed with a tour of the International terminal courtesy of Border Force, a behind-the-scenes tour of terminal operations in addition to the cutest visit by Australian Federal Police detector dogs and puppies in training.

On day two, they took everything they learned and worked together to identify a current or future problem, researched possible solutions and presented those solutions to a panel of judges. Their ideas ranged from making the baggage system more efficient, movable plane seats that can make plane aisles easier to navigate, making small aircraft safer, more widespread terminal security and robotic air hostesses.

This year’s teen start-up camp was one of the biggest and best so far. About 30 teens from the ACT region participated.
